My family just returned from a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on the Sunshine (9/27-10/4), it was a GREAT trip! Like other cruisers, I had read many of the negative reviews about the Sunshine, and was a little apprehensive prior to embarkation. Let me say, the ship is beautiful! Having sailed on both the Victory and the Ecstasy I very much enjoyed the muted and refined decor of the Sunshine over the "Vegas Bling" of the other ships. I want to address some specific complaints:

Difficult to navigate around the ship - Not any more difficult than any other ship I've sailed on. It's a big ship, but after day one my family had no problem getting from where we were, to where we wanted to be. The elevators were a little slow...but who doesn't have a few extra minutes to wait while on vacation?

Sewage smell - I can't speak to what other people smell, but we noticed no sewage smell except during our safety meeting at muster station C prior to leaving port. Once we were at sea, we never smelled it again.

The staterooms we had (3) were beautiful! The toilets worked perfectly. The showers were mold free, had great water pressure and the water temperature was perfect. The beds were comfortable, and when my parents complained about their room being a little warm, the steward brought them a fan...they were perfectly satisfied.
