My family just returned from a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on the Sunshine (9/27-10/4), it was a GREAT trip! Like other cruisers, I had read many of the negative reviews about the Sunshine, and was a little apprehensive prior to embarkation. Let me say, the ship is beautiful! Having sailed on both the Victory and the Ecstasy I very much enjoyed the muted and refined decor of the Sunshine over the "Vegas Bling" of the other ships. I want to address some specific complaints:

Difficult to navigate around the ship - Not any more difficult than any other ship I've sailed on. It's a big ship, but after day one my family had no problem getting from where we were, to where we wanted to be. The elevators were a little slow...but who doesn't have a few extra minutes to wait while on vacation?

Sewage smell - I can't speak to what other people smell, but we noticed no sewage smell except during our safety meeting at muster station C prior to leaving port. Once we were at sea, we never smelled it again. Read more
