Sail Date: Aug 2014

My wife and myself recently returned from a 14 day cruise, on the Majesty, sailing from Corfu. The holiday was in fact, 2 x 7day loops, the first called Italian Flavours and the second called Adriatic Explorer. We picked this holiday specifically for the itinerary, 11 ports of call, of which we'd only been to Sorrento before.2 sea days out of 14, and this being our 5th trip with Thomson, we knew what to expect. Also the Majesty was the only one of Thomsons' main fleet that we hadn't been on before.

Overall we had a great time on the holiday, due to the people we met and the new ports of call. However we have to advise of some aspects that we think that you, the reader, should be aware of.

Firstly the cabins on The Majesty were the smallest we have encountered. Having been alerted to this fact before we booked, we paid extra for Outside plus on Deck 4 , yet this was quite small compared to the cabin we had on the Dream last January. The cabin is designed with fold down beds on its walls, to enable 4 passengers to share. Whilst we found the room and storage space acceptable for the two of us, there is no doubt that 4 people would have found it quite cramped and with the side beds folded down, quite claustrophobic. We found the bathroom, quite small for 2, with little space for toiletries, etc, so heaven knows what 4 people would make of it; so small in fact that the hairdryer is stored in one of the cabin drawers. Having met passengers who were disappointed with their basic outside cabins, we had a look at them ourselves and were quite surprised at the lack of room and storage space; the inside cabins felt like large windowless cupboards. Our opinion is avoid and pay the extra.
