We just completed along with our 92 year old uncle and six cousins a trip up to Alaska on the Century. Our Sky Suite, berth 1074 shared with my uncle and another cousin was a disappointing experience at a expensive cost. The carpet was old and used, beds well worn broken down mattresses and two chairs stained and falling apart. Worst, was the the bath room that smelled of sewage from the floor drain pipe. All this was brought up early in the cruise to guess relations management in a polite professional manner. We requested either a change of berth, which did not prevail. The other option was a adjustment to compensate for a well over priced berth. Eight days went by with out a word from management, until I had to again broach the above subject, then wait until the final night of our 12 day cruise. A $200 credit voucher was given to the three of us who occupied the berth. Although I appreciated the recognition that the berth quality was such a let down, I find it difficult that a Celebrity Cruise Line ignores such a obvious problem that has lasting impressions on their guest. Our room attendents were outstanding, and they tried to make the best of well worn out room, and balcony that was weathered with teak flooring that needed sanding and a new coat of stain.

The dinning service was great, and the food consistently average. The portions were just right and the soups were quite good. The martini bar I found quite expensive at $12 per drink. Happy hour at 50% off was from 4 to 5 pm and consisted of mixed sugar drinks only. If you wanted a straight martini you had to pay $12 during happy hour. We found the tours consisting of bus, boat and train rides pleasant but very over priced for two to three hour tours. We were supposed to have priority boarding and it took 45 min. just to register, there seem to be allot of confusion at embarkation.
