This was my first time sailing on Norwegian. I have previously sailed on Carnival 10 times, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean once each. Here are my impressions. First off, for such a large ship, the Getaway was very easy to navigate. I also never felt the ship to be crowded. I beleive there were just under 4000 passengers on my sailing which meant she was just below normal capacity. The decor of the ship is nice, elegant and tasteful.

The highlight of the cruise was the entertainment. For starters, Burn the Floor was the best show I have ever seen on a ship by far! It made all other shows seem amatuer in comparison. Legally Blonde is a full 90 minute musical, just like on Broadway and it to was excellent. Not a short abbreviated show like on other lines. The comedians were also very good, as was the musical entertainment. The Grammy experience was Sugar Blue, a phenominal grammy award winning blues harmonica player. He was backed up by the house band which was also excellent. Additionally, there was other live music throughout the ship including a good reggae band that performed inside and out.

NCL also puts on quite a party, including fireworks on one night in Spice H20. The investment in sound throughout the ship is impressive.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

Cabin was fine. Shower is glass enclosed although typical cruise ship small. Balcony was small, but usable.
