We just concluded our first cruise on NCL. I cruised previously on Carnival.

We liked the Epic, but got off to a lousy start without our luggage. I arranged our flights thru NCL. They put us on outbound Delta flights, MIA-JFK and JFK-BCN, with a 55-min layover. Our first flight was 30 min late so Delta could not transfer our 2 bags to the BCN flight. We did some shopping in BCN for basic necessities at the Mare Magnum mall 10 min from the port. We were assured by BCN airport staff that Delta will reimburse us for reasonable purchases. Nevertheless, this added a deal of stress to our cruise. The bags were delivered when we returned aboard from Naples, the first stop, on Tuesday evening. NCL compensated us to the tune of $200 onboard credit. However, I hold their Air-Sea Dept. responsible. A 55-min layover at an int'l airport like JFK where you need to change terminals is cutting it too close.

The rest of the cruise went well. We loved the entertainment on-board, especially the Beatles-look alike band. The Fab 4 imitators did a great job, playing 2 1-hr sets with a 15-min break. We also enjoyed the Blue Man Group performance. Funny. Entertaining.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BF

Lovely balcony. Roomy. Narrow cabin. Sink outside the bathroom is unusual. Mind any water run offs when using the sink, as it gets the cabin's rug wet and causes mildewy odor.
