There are plenty of excellent reviews of this ship and cruise so I'm not going to rehash them here. Instead, I'll simply offer some tips that I wish I had seen in advance of my cruise:
1. Bring multiple charges. Between my wife and I we had an ipad and kindle for reading, an ipod and a couple cameras that we tried to keep charged. Because the electricity only works when your key card is in the slot by the door, nothing charges when you are not in the cabin. The result is that we had to try and charge everything overnight. This wouldn't be a problem accept that we could only find 2 plugs. If you rely on multiple devices for reading, listening to music and picture taking then take chargers that allow you to charge multiple devices at the same time.
2. Bring an extension cord. I use a CPAP machine but I couldn't find a plug near the bed. Fortunately my cord reached the plugs by the vanity, but just barely. Bring an extension cord if you need a plug by the bead for any reason. Also, my CPAP machine took up one of the 2 plugs we could find in the room leaving just one for charging other stuff - see tip #1.
Go with a larger cabin over location. The mid-ship mini-suite was fine but there were other balcony cabins that were 25% larger for lower fare. This ship was so smooth in the water, even during a couple storms, that the mid-ship location was not a huge benefit. Doing it again, I would choose bigger cabin over location if the price is the same.
