We have just returned from the 2/25 5-day cruise. This was our first time cruising and I wish it was 365 days long! Cruising was myself, my husband, 2 year old son, my parents and my sister. A motley crew indeed!

Hotel: We flew in to FLL on Saturday and stayed the night at the Sheraton Plantation Suites. Excellent. The rooms are large, separate sitting area and bedroom. We had 2 dbls and a pull out couch so were very comfortable. Staying with us in the hotel were the Boston Bruins! We found out that most NHL teams stay there as it is a short distance from the arena. So, as Canadians, we knew our hotel was a good choice ;-)

Embarkation: We had rented a car from Alamo in FLL and swallowed the $40 fee to return in to Miami airport. We then took the free shuttle from Alamo to the port. We were not the only ones, so we had to wait 3 or 4 buses before we could get on (6 of us). The reason that there are not more Alamo buses to the port is that there are only certain buses that have permission to enter the port. Anyways, we had received the phone call a few days before notifying us that it was now a 3pm boarding. However, we were onboard before 2pm. No line-up or anything. Even better, they did not hold our Canadian passports. This gave us great relief.
