Having had a wonderful cruise with PandO last year my friend and I decided that this year we would try for the eastern med as I really wanted to see santorini an Mykonos. The celebrity was the only one we could find that went to the ports we wished to visit and at the time of year we wanted. 5 star was also an attraction. From day one and the dreadful flight with Alitalia, to be mentioned elsewhere, I had feelings of doubt. The cabin, or stateroom, as it was called was very ordinary no complimentary tea and coffee as expected on past cruises nor the exceptional body lotions and gels which were part of P and O. Food wise, huge selection but after a few days it was same o same o of the same cuisines.

Obviously catered far more for the American population and although the buffet staff were generally friendly there were one or two who looked as if they had been chewing on scanners, been a long year I suppose but they were In the wrong job. Prices of drinks were ridiculous and well over the top, even the Americans were shocked. The shows at the theatre were also a big disappointment, organised at sill times so you either went in before dinner or ate in the buffet to get the later show. Poor presentation and the organisers did not seem able to include everything in one show, it was either a comedian, a singer or dancing. Their dancers were incredible and should have been included every day but although the Beatles were popular I'm afraid been there seen it done it and for me outdated. If I heard the word the wonderful celebrity reflection shouted by the captain once more I was ready to shove the words down his throat. Talk about Ryan air. I must say that if anyone deserved a mention it was the canid staff, they were incredible and all deserved medals, nothing was too much trouble. Will I use celebrity again, never, misnamed ship, yes and I couldn't wait to get home, I already have a cruise booked for next year but NOT with celebrity rip off.
