One of our best of 12 Princess Cruises despite Tropical Norbert and a 200 mile detour. We missed our flight due to I-15 being totally washed out ! Spent the night before the cruise at the Coventry Motor Inn, nice and clean but very noisy (street traffic). We spent the afternoon at Pier 39 enjoying some shopping, a great seafood dinner, and of course Ghiradelli Sq. desert, yum ! Highly recommend sailing the extended Alaska itinerary out of San Francisco, 11 great days. Embarkation was'nt to bad we arrived at noon and were in our room before 1 pm. We were at mid ship a nice balcony room on the port side, near the incredibly slow & crowded elevators. Your better off taking the stairs if your up to it.

Loved the 4 Production shows, 3 new ,& the Princess singers & dancers, best we have ever seen on Princess, including the new Royal. Entertainment overall was much better than reviews I have read, so much to see and do, often hard to choose. We loved Colin Salter in Crooners Piano Lounge fun sing along's every night, & 3 great commedy acts. Colins concert, a tribute to Billy Joel was very well received, first rate. The food especially the service in the Capri Dining Room was first rate, and such an outgoing friendly staff. Meats & appetizers mostly very good. We loved the Pub Lunches in the Crown dining room. Drinks are very pricey $10 with tip, so look for "Happy Hour" called BOGO, buy one get one.The weather was mostly good especially in Ketchikan & Juneau, only a light sprinkle late in the day. Fog was pretty dense leaving S.F. and in a few other regions, the horn was blasting often, kind of scary, as visibility was less then 50 yards at times. We had a detour due to other ships in Tracy's Arm and got the ok to sail up the Endicott Arm to "Daws Glacier, wow ! Absolutely beautiful, blue ice, waterfalls, otters, seals, just a great trek up to Daws Glacier where it actually "caved", twice. We got to within about 300 yards, really close, it was spectacular.

I can't say enough about the crew/staff so friendly and could not do enough for you. They are the "STARS" of the Star Princess. The ship looked great and is well maintained for being 12 1/2 years old. We may do it again some day ? It's a much better itinerary out of S.F. than Seattle, or Vancouver, believe me. Breaching Whales we saw several times between Victoria & Skagway, what a site ! Disembarkation had a glitch and was delayed about 45 minutes due to arriving in a new Terminal just finished. It seemed a little dis-organized I highly recommend this ship & itinerary however, if you haven't been on this one, put in on your bucket list.
