We sailed on the Norwegian Jewel on an Inland Passage Alaskan cruise in September 2014. This was our first cruise and we would go again in a heartbeat. My husband and I were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and wanted to have a special trip, this cruise definitely fit the bill. Everything about the cruise experience was top notch.
The service of everyone on board from the wait staff in the restaurants, cabin stewards, housekeeping staff, guest services, bartenders, photographers and security staff were professional, friendly and helpful.
We chose an Oceanview room which was perfect, the price was good and having the daylight was wonderful.
Cabin Review
Obstructed Oceanview
I chose this cabin based on reviews from other travelers on this site. While it is in the Obstructed Oceanview category there isn't that much of an obstruction. A small lifeboat is outside of the window but you can see right over and past it, especially compared to the cabins that look out at the large style lifeboats that almost completely block your view. Being on deck 8 was perfect, it was close enough to the action on decks 6 and 7 without being too noisy. A short elevator ride up took us to most of the restaurants and pool on deck 12. It was a forward cabin which I liked and it seemed like there was less motion of the boat than in the back, especially on our sea day coming home when the boat was rocking pretty good. I found the cabin surprisingly roomy. It didn't feel too small or confining. The bathroom was on the small side but I would rather have the little bit more space in the main cabin than in the bathroom anyway.
