Had a great time on our recent 7 night cruise to the Agean ( Gems of the Agean ). We will outline specific points so readers get a flavour of our experiences.

FLIGHT with Thompsons from Manchester to Dalman. On time, no issues, but considering the size of the plane (767) ther was no entertainment on the 4 hour flight. No way to access on board films, radio etc. we thought this very strange. No flight safety video was shown either, but it was on the return flight. Did not bother us, but it could be a problem in keeping children entertained.

COACH TRANSFER was Ok (1.5hrs to Marmaris from the airport) after waiting over 1hr to get our bags at the airport in Dalman. A bit strange our driver opted to take a 15 min break some 20 mins from the port though !. Throughput to the ship was not problematic, but one thing we have noticed with Thompsons is that they are increasingly following the American trick of charging for 'extras' which at one time would have been inclusive.
