Sail Date: Aug 2014

The ship was clean, attractive and the crew outstanding. That said, much was negative. The dining experience was dreadful. One seating for 180 people in a crowded, noisy room made for a rude crush when the dining room doors opened. There was one table for 4, none for 2; the rest were for 6 or 8. If you weren't with an already formed group it seemed like you'd have to beg for 2 empty seats. We gave up on dinner in the main dining room and ate in the Aqavit lounge nightly. In addition to the space disaster, the food was only fair.

The ship closed the sundeck for 6 days! This caused crowding in the already busy lounge. With this large group, there was nowhere else to go except your cabin. The noise level was awful. How nice it would have been to have more lounge spaces.

We will not take another River cruise no will we recommend Viking to others.
