We just returned from the February 24th sailing of the Grandeur of the Seas. This was our ninth cruise and our third on RCI. Overall, we had a great time.

Embarkation: We arrived at the port in New Orleans at 11:00 and got on the ship by 1:15. We were delayed due to the incidence of the Norwalk virus and the extra cleaning that needed to be done.

Cabin: We booked a last minute deal via the cruise line's website. We took a gamble and did not get to pick our cabin. We ended up with cabin #7619, an inside on the 7th deck. The cabin was just enough space for the 2 of us and very quiet. The bed was hard, more like a deluxe cot. The pillows were firm and the blanket coarse. My suggestion, if you have enough space in your luggage, would be to bring your own pillow and soft blanket. That being said, we slept fairly well anyway due to exhaustion from all the fun activities. Our room steward, Wayu, was excellent and kept our room spotless. We did bring food back to our room on the second night, but after seeing one of the largest cockroaches staring at me from the wall opposite my side of the bed, we quickly stopped all food items being left in our room. The location of our cabin was great! Central to almost everything and I rarely needed to use the elevators.
