With relief we found Discovery waiting for us at Bristol Avonmouth (last time we turned up she was at Weymouth - another story entirely!)

We were off to the Azores and Madeira via Spain and Portugal. It's a long way and we had to cross the Atlantic for 2 days through a weather depression which provided high swells and affected many on board - passengers and crew.

Throughout it all the staff were kind, caring and professionally cheerful. Not the same can be said about some of the passengers. Lots of totally unfounded complaining - I suggest that careful perusal of the General information BEFORE booking would be helpful for all!! Personally, I would like to thank the Captain for putting my safety first when making the decision not to disembark us into tenders in a swirling 3 metre swell. Good call!!

Cabin Review

Twin beds, porthole over each - brilliant. Nice space between with 3 deep drawers in bedside cabinet - very good. Large dressing table (4 more drawers) with chair and massive mirror - perfect. Another cupboard with safe inside and TV on top - ideal. Double wardrobes with plenty of hangers and shelf above - very good. Shower en-suite, roomy and more storage - very nice. All fittings worked perfectly and, though elderly, were thoroughly clean and kept nice.
