We just returned from our cruise today on the Star Princess. This was our first cruise and it was a birthday gift from my sweetheart, Joe. We had a wonderful time! A friend gave us a lift to the ship after we picked up two bottles of champagne and we were in our room in a half hour. Our room was fine and the balcony was a must have!I enjoyed the quality of the bed linens and the mini refrigerator.Always hot water and good pressure in the shower. We slept like rocks from the sound of the waves and the sway of the ship. We chose anytime dining and it worked out great. We met interesting people and we could eat when we wanted to.We thought the food was fine ( I graduated from the Culinary Institute) and appreciate all the hard work that goes into feeding a ship full of people! My favorites were braised lamb shank over baby lima beans, beef wellington,mahi-mahi,tiramisu,creme brulee... We didn't even get to try the specialty restaurants. The buffet was fine ,bran muffins, cheese blintzes, fresh fruit, egg white omelets....kept me happy. In the evening there are brownies, cookies, etc. We brought hot cups with lids with us so we could carry our tea or coffee around. There are coffee, tea, decaf, ice tea and water at the coffee station.I kept filling my water bottle up and placing it in the room fridge. At Ocho Rios we did the rafting on the Martha Brae River. It was different. You may have to be a bit firm when approached by the many people selling their stuff.

At Grand Cayman we did the feed the stingrays .Great fun. Cozumel we hunted for a Raymond Weil watch and found it for half what you would pay for it in N.Y. We also ate lunch at Pancho's Backyard very nice great food. Had to stop at Carlos and Charlies to see people dancing on the tables. Princess Cays was o.k. Most of our time was spent at the spa pool and hot tub ,you can use the sauna and steam room for free.We tried the pizza one afternoon for lunch pretty good. Read the princess patter each morning to find out whats going on that day and make your choice. We enjoyed the comedians, the Karaoke contest, dancing at Skywalkers and the martini of the day! We loved getting dressed up on formal nights and having champagne on the balcony. We were given a bucket of ice and glasses from one of the bartenders. We couldn't find to much to fuss about except the bar service was too slow during the afternoon by the pools.Had a fun time!
