Cruised on the Legend beginning of August 2014, of their last sailings before heading out to Australia. First I do want to point out to many that for the price you do get value, most cruise ships make money on the extras not on the basic costs of the stateroom- we also know that the staff is not overpaid based on their long hours all this so the cruise Company be able to bring in affordable cruises to the masses. So leave your tips they need it and order a drink once in a while and don't complain if you feel pressured just say 'No Thank you'. Having said that I will continue on my assessment of cruising. This was my 3rd cruise , my sister and mother have been on many more than me, and having all of us being exposed to hotellerie and restaurant business in the past we adjusted our expectations to what we believe is realistic for Carnival Cruise lines. I have stayed in many top notch hotels and none of them have cleaned my room twice in a day or provide turn down service and 24hr free room service. I agree the food was good not great and the Lido deck buffet( Hi Emilio you made my mother's trip entertaining she loved teasing you) was so so for some things and great for others. I want to shout out to our wait staff in the Truffles Restaurant Tomasz, Razvan and Zoran - we laughed so much between ourselves and with them, we received 1st class service- Has anyone looked at what they need to carry back and forth and the weight involved they are humans not robots- BTW 1st night service does tend to be slower the predictability of who what when is in play(how many at what time so on) .

Here is my food NoNo's; Molten cake ; if you get there too late its no longer Molten.

Mussels I mentioned that no attention was paid to the fact that some of them were cracked or had not opened- I know Mussels but not everyone does and there is a risk in eating these- I was offered more but what I was trying to say was the risk involved for other passengers so I wanted a " So sorry we will inform the kitchen immediately"I know the kitchen puts out a lot of food but never should it be at the cost of quality controlI should mention I have never been sick from any of the foods and we eat in the dining room every night of every cruise we have taken. Dinnertime for us is more a time to Kibbitz with my 91yr old mother and my sister(I was probably the one laughing real loud) and teach my mother about current practices in social media such as photobombing (LOL) which she promptly proceeded to do as we left the dining room.

Cabin Review

Extended Balcony

Cabin 8J

No complaints whatsoever for the stateroom- the extended balcony is perfect the room is clean well appointed and spacious enough for 2(it is a ship after all.
