So this is around cruise number 12 for me. I am a big cruise fan, or I should say was until this cruise. I had a good time, there is no horrible story to be had. It just isn't quite what I remember a cruise to be like, I'm not sure if that is due to Carnival or just due to a changing society. The boat was very clean even though it was extremely packed. In the past I have thought a cruise is like being a king on a ship, the service was second to none and a good time was had by all. The service was good, but far from what I consider normal cruise service. I didn't realize until the end that the tip was included and automatically deducted from my bill. To me this is a major mistake because what motivates someone to work harder, faster and be more pleasant? Dinner is usually when you see service at its best, but my wife and I actually skipped the last night because it was so slow it just wasn't worth the time wasted. 2.5 hours for a 3 course meal is not acceptable in my opinion. My wife and I were also sat at a table where nobody spoke English, I would venture they could do a bit better matching couples up, a simple question of what your fluent language was would solve that.

There was also a very ghetto atmosphere to a large amount of people on the boat which I've never seen on the cruise. I joked at the casino one night that I wasn't sure how everyone could afford to go on this cruise and everyone agreed and wondered who was paying for it? Another thing I wasn't fond of was that the tips I give at the casino get divided by 1000 through every carnival casino and all the dealers. My tips went from 10-25 dollars a sit to 1-2 dollars. I don't tip people who don't do the work that's just dumb. It might not be unique to carnival, it was the first time I've ever asked.

Lastly my desire to use the pool got squashed. I'm not sure why in the past the pools were not that packed on the cruises I have been on but this one literally was stand up only room like a spring break pool party. No thanks not very appealing.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6D

Cabin was well kept, our steward did a great job but was a little less conversational then those I've had in the past. The bed was awesome I don't know why but I always sleep well on cruises.
