Hubby and I made he long journey to Dover for this cruise. We've done a few before including one on the Balmoral. We thought we'd give this one a go. The initial impression was quite good although it went on a downhill slope after the first few days.

I must say scenery was beautiful along the Baltic, with Talinn, St Petersberg and wonderful Helsinki. All too brief in reality though, would have liked more time to explore, but maybe by other means in the future. One to consider. The Kiel Passage was also interesting and very different to what we expected. Food on board was passable with nothing to write home about, really. Missed my balm cakes, I think, although as they say 'when in Rome!' Cabin was not very spacious and felt a bit hemmed in if I'm honest. Did use a few of the facilities on board which were ok. I felt that parts of the ship lacked a bit of sparkle and appeared tired; a bit like some of the entertainment. Saw some of the entertainment people on and off ship and I know they are away from home, but there was an uncomfortable immature arrogance with some, particularly one of the singers; an air of complacent 'cut above the rest' which was certainly not the case. I did wonder at one point, who the actual guests were in the party! So we'll put that Cruise down in the 'no returns' list and maybe look at another Line. Thanks anyway.
