Stayed 3 nights in Rome - then travelled by shuttle via Bob's Limos (we used them from airport to Rome and from Rome to Civatavicci and then from the port to the airport - 2 out of the 3 drivers were maniac drivers - however, everyone seems to drive like a maniac in Rome!) to the Pier where Embarkation was fast and efficient. Arrived around 1:00pm and our rooms were ready for us (Concierge Level room)

Reflection ship - clean, clean clean...they work so hard keeping this ship spotless...you will be amazed. The staff are top notch and bend over backwards to make sure that you are taken care of. Show up at a bar and you get served immediately 99% of the time (they have an abundance of staff to serve you!) - and in those rare cases where you might have a large number of guests show up at the same time - they very politely ensure that they serve guests in order. One time, we went to the bar in the Ensemble Lounge (outside Murano) and my husband asked for a Vodka soda with white cranberry juice - and the bartender told him that this bar only stocked red cranberry juice - but without hesitation, he immediately sent someone to go get some from another bar to make my husband that one drink. So while that in itself is great customer service - the fact that we went back to that bar two nights later - the man turns to my husband and says, would you like a vodka soda with white cranberry juice sir - I saved it for you. (You have to know that my husband is a bald man who perhaps looks like many of the other bald men on board...so what a great memory!)

We chose anytime dining - but requested the same table and time for the entire cruise...this allowed us to build up rapport with our waiters and bar staff - which made for some really fun banter with the staff each evening.

Perfect area as we were just slightly behind the aft elevators...which is pretty much the main area of the ship. Most of the venues (other than the Reflection Theatre) are towards the back (aft) of the ship - so this is where you want to be.Room attendant was amazing - just out of site enough to magically take care of our rooms...but close enough that we could easily "bump into him" if we wanted anything...at one point, we called him, and he didn't answer - only to show up at our door 5 minutes later. Not sure that I got value out of the "afternoon canapés" - which is about the only perk I see with this level of room over the veranda room...but we only paid $20 extra - so no big deal and being on a higher floor made for better balcony views.
