I have been on many cruises and different cruise lines. My boyfriend wanted to try NCL so for his birthday I bought him the 3 night cruise to the Bahamas on the Norwegian Sky. First of all, Port of Miami is SO unorganized and chaotic. If I can avoid Miami for future cruises, I definitely will! When boarding the Sky, the crew was dancing and welcoming...except...there was never a time on the ship where they had live music by the pool! And no tropical/steel drum music like you see on other cruise lines. I was disappointed about this. It was like a techno party. We are in are mid 30's and early 40's and this was not the type of music we expected to hear for the bon voyage party or any other time.

The rooms on NCL are tiny, I mean really tiny. I have heard that Carnival had much bigger rooms and it is true. Our room steward was never around and never introduced himself. I feel like now that "tips" are included automatically, you don't get the service you used to on board. People should have to work for their tips and be rewarded as such.

The food was, eh, not great. Never had a dessert that was any good. Dinner was average, nothing special and I really believe it's because they want you to have to go to their specialty restaurants and pay the upcharge. I'm sorry, but that should be included in the price! Also, the freestyle cruising was weird. You get a different server every meal and they don't know your name or what you like. I like having the same server that really makes you feel welcomed and is more personal.
