Sail Date: Sep 2014

I had a horrible experience dealing with Carnival just prior to going on this cruise. Since it was too late to get our money back, we decided to just go on the cruise and enjoy it. We sailed on this ship when it was Destiny, and thought it would be nice to see the upgrades. It looks like they tried to throw it together too fast without paying attention to detail. When leaving the Lido Marketplace, there is always standing water on the deck. At first I thought maybe this was just from guests using the pool and moving around the ship, but it was like this everyday. This was a full time job for a crew member to continue to cleaning the water up. I even noticed some towels at the base of the floor to catch the water. Really, an allegedly remodeled ship and this can't be fixed.

Since the "upgrade" the dining area in the buffet has gotten much smaller, and it is hard to find a seat. I tried the Mongolian Wok for lunch, but it was not worth the 30 minute wait in the line. The Italian place was just about average for lunch, nothing I would like to spend additional money on. Guy's Burger Joint is awesome, and we really enjoyed the burritos for both breakfast and lunch. We did try the 555 Steakhouse one night, my wife and I both had the surf and turf, it was well worth the price, and the staff was awesome.

We would eat in the dining room for dinner most nights, I did not like the layout of the ship because you have to check in for dinner on deck 5, then go down to the dining room on deck 3. The area outside the dining room gets crowded if you prefer eating early, and a lot of people come down the elevator and cut the line. The light fixtures rattle hard and loud if you happen to be in the dining room while the ship is leaving from a port, again, something that could be corrected for a "new" ship.
