I am not a cruise person so I was very reluctant to go on another cruise. I like staying in a city or travelling by car to small towns and exploring. The cruise seemed to be the only way I could get my entire family together for a vacation. This cruise line seemed to do almost everything just right The public areas on the ship were well appointed with very tasteful artwork. The ship never seemed crowded. I cannot say enough about the level of professionalism of the staff. Everyone always seemed to have a smile on their face and were always ready to assist you with any questions or requests. The dining on the ship was the biggest surprise to me as I did not expect the food and service to be anything special. The dining in all of the specialty restaurants was excellent as were the breakfasts and lunch. The gym was more then adequate although I felt that the ship should have had a trainer or some type of assistant in the gym as I was not familiar with all of the equipment. My son and daughter used the spa for a massage which they felt was very good. We did not take the ships shore excursions as we made excursion arrangements on our own which is what I would recommend if you have the time to do some internet research. We usually ate dinner at 8:30 so we never went to see the shows although the lounge entertainment in the evening was just fine. Staterooms were very nice and ample size.

Would I go on another cruise? Probably not but if I do go on another cruise I would not hesitate to go on Oceana again.
