We elected to take this cruise on fairly short notice as we were both worn down from working on our move to Florida from North Carolina.

We drove from our home near Panama City to the Fort Pierce area on Sunday, August 31, 2014 and spent the night. We did this as the prices of decent hotels in the Fort Lauderdale area are significantly higher than a few miles up the road.

On Monday, September 1, we drove the 100 miles to Port Everglades. I-595 at the port/airport area was in absolute chaos with construction. After a series of wrong turns, we finally got to "Park n Fly" and they were very courteous and quick in getting us parked. The shuttle driver took our bags right to the entrance to the terminal and a dockside porter took our checked luggage from there.

Balcony

Cabin 8C

A typical Carnival balcony cabin. No particular annoying characteristics. Our toilet exploded, but that was an isolated incident and was resolved in minutes, so I would not expect that to be a negative. This stateroom does have connecting door, but we heard very little from the young and fairly rowdy folks in there.
