Boarded the adventure of the seas with some trepidation as we had had issues with RC before, check in was ok and just a short wait to get into our outside stateroom, luggage arrived in good time, ok good start i thought, then downhill, cabin steward just managed a grunt each day despite trying to have a conversation with him, nothing, other stewards were fine, next was a quick meal in the windjammer restaurant, well how no body ended up with a stomach upset from lukewarm food i will never know, the only good thing were the waiting staff as always but their numbers were greatly reduced, main restaurant was somewhat better.
The ship cruised at a very slow speed to Iceland so sea days consisted of reading (be warned the library is very poor) so what was there left to do, no daytime entertainment apart from an ice show twice in 12 days, rock wall or gambling so you were pushed towards over priced drinks and shopping for junk you never knew you needed, as this was a cold climate cruise people stayed inside leading to a shortage of seating on board, as a result of the slow rate of knots the shore time which is the main reason for the cruise was very much reduced, don't believe the time table you are given by RC those are arrival and departure times add on 1hr for arrival clearance and subtract 1hr for packing away.
Senior staff didn't want to communicate with passengers making you feel beneath them , organisation on board was non existent which actually lead to a fight right in front of me whilst waiting to go ashore no one from RC were helping with this and we all know how some people feel and act when having to queue.
ok clean and tidy sheets were a bit worn, reasonable layout for what we wanted. balcony glass was filthy until middle of second week.
