This was our third trip on this general itinerary, and the fourth time on the Grandeur. The ship is not a megapolis but has just the right ambience and amenities to make for an enjoyable cruise, especially for senior cruisers, although all age groups would find lots of activities. As usual, the staff at Royal Caribbean has been well trained in customer service and performed above and beyond expectations in all categories. Friendliness and caring seem to emanate from everyone, from the food/wait staff to the cabin staff and people who walk around maintaining the ship and doing things behind the scenes. Although the food was a little disappointing at times, no one will starve on this ship, and some items were outstanding. The activities and cruise directors were so full of energy and pizzazz that you were always tempted to participate in whatever activity they were involved in.

We generally do our own off ship port activities, and I feel I would be remiss in not mentioning the great time shown to our group of ten travelers in Halifax by Mr. Jim Currie (www.tours bytowncar.ns.ca) Jim was enlightening, knowledgeable, engaging, and despite our having been in the area before, provided a unique experience in an affordable, comfortable package. We are planning to be in this area again, and we will definitely seek him out in advance.
