Just came off Carnival Conquest. Been on Carnival quite a few times. Been mostly cruising with Royal but this was a good deal so thought would try it. Ship was supposedly refurbished in 2012. Couldn't prove it by me. Lots of stuff needed painting, seat cushions in Renoir dining room were stained, public bathrooms needed a lot of work. The ship is dark, not light and bright. Very difficult to go from one end of the ship to another as only Deck 2 seemed to go all the way through. Dining on deck 3 so had to go down then up then over. Hard to find a quiet place to relax and inside no nice big open spaces but lots of little bars and lounges all over. Entertainment was the same 3 shows over and over: all singing. The Divas (Beyoncé,Gaga, etc), 70's-80'smusic and British Invasion. The food was the worst on any cruise -this was my 29th and parents over 100. No steak unless you pay $20 (unless you count a flat iron steak as a good steak to eat) every night the menu had a "comfort" food : meatloaf, Mac/cheese and one night fried shrimp which was then a regular entree on the 2nd "elegant" night.(we dressed for first one-and we just dress nice not fancy- I left shoes at home so only had flip flops I was wearing for the whole week-but people showed up in T-Shirts, shorts, jeans, etc) Prime rib twice. No real variety. Almost same desserts nightly -warm chocolate melting cake. Food in Lido no better. Same stuff every day-same salads. Fish & chips place was good if you can find it. Well hidden on deck 10 hard to get to. Guy's Burger Joint was the best food I had all week. Loads of kids that were very noisy and misbehaving and no one did anything. Late night running up and down corridors screaming. Family a few cabins down from us would leave their door open and have music blaring. I would not recommend this ship to anyone. Day one we wanted to leave and go home. The food was just too horrible.
