We took this trip as a family vacation. My parents, my sister and her two sons (age 4 and 6) and me and my son (age 21). We really enjoyed this vacation. We stayed at the Intercontinential Miami, which is right across from the port so we could see all the ships. It's a beautiful hotel and they gave us a suite with a king size bed, queen pull out and brought us two roll aways for $200 a night. The roll aways are the most comfortable I've ever slept in. They have a nice pool and a great restaurant called Toro Toro. It's not cheap but worth every penny. We had friends take us to the port so I can tell you about transportation to the port.
Conquest is a lovely ship. The layout is a little confusing (to get to one of the dining rooms you have to go to deck 5, then across, then down to deck 3) but once you got used to it, it was okay. Everything else was very easy to get to. The main pool is kinda small but they had only up the stairs, two hot tubs and the waterslide. The main pool was always so busy but the kids mostly wanted the slide. I never went to the adults only pool but walked through once and it seems okay (no kids).
There were tons of activites on the ship. Trivia, art actions, shows, comedy, etc. I'd never participated in the trivia's before but found myself participating in several on this cruise and even won one!!! I never felt like there was a lack of anything to do except the last sea day, but that was more because we kept the kids with us. At 4 and 6 they don't enjoy those kinds of things and we didn't want to stay camped at the pool (although they loved the waterslides).
Nice room. Kind size bed, two twins (one from above). Refrigerator (locked, we never opened). plenty of drawers and cabinets (there are two drawers under one of the twins, which we didn't notice until day 5 or 6 of the cruise). blowdryer, shampoo, body wash provided. bathroom is small but doable.
