We did not take any excursions but rather did a self walking tour of the city itself. This city wasn't that exciting to us. We did walk to a place called the Bug Zoo. It was pretty cool, if you are into learning about crazy insects and bugs. It was a little expensive for the short time we were there, but it was fun.

The lumberjack show was fun and entertaining. I would recommend to anyone with kids. And as they advertised, it is in a covered and heated setting. In fact it was so warm we took all our jackets off to stay cool. Walking through Creek Street was nice. There's a ton of souvenirs available in these stores. However it may have been the time of the season we went (late in their season) but the prices here were much higher than in the next ports for the exact same items. The next ports all had sales going on and their 50% sale prices brought their "inflated" prices down to better than in Ketchikan prices.They also have a big selection of jackets and rain hear here for a cheap price. If you forget to bring anything, you can pick items up here for good prices.Lunch at Annabelle's Keg and Chowderhouse was very good.

We booked the helicopter tour to the glacier and that was expensive, but we still have smiles on our faces after that. What an experience. I would do it again and again, if I could.Juneau was our favorite of the towns this cruise visits. I would have liked to have spent more time there.Don't miss out on Tracy's King Crab Shack. It's literally just a couple of shacks just off the port where you dock. They had the best Alaska King crab legs I have ever had! 

Skagway was a super small town. We did a single excursion called the Klondike Family. When it started we thought this was going to be a joke and waste of time. But that feeling went away pretty quickly. Here you get to sample a lot of different experiences in one place. We arrived at lunch time, and sat right down to an all you can eat lunch. The food was really good. Next we did their 40 degree below zero room. It is much like going inside a large walk in freezer. It wasn't as cold as it was on top of the Mendenhall Glacier. Next we did their dog sled instruction. You don't get to ride the sled, just watch one of their girls do it and then you get to pet the dogs and the baby pups. My daughter loved the puppies the best. After that you get a bag of "pay dirt" and get to pan for gold. Together between the three of us we "found" $30 in gold. Everyone is a winner in this event. Next was the beer tasting. You get decent sized glasses of four different beers and their own root beer brew. The root beer was awesome! I have not had such a good tasting root beer before. Again, this is another good family experience that lasted 5 hours.

Holy Cow! After cruising in this cabin, I will never be able to cruise in anything less again! The cabin was huge! My 6 year old loved her separate bedroom. The master bathroom was almost as big as an inside cabin. A huge tub, big shower, two sinks and plenty of space. The dining area was great. We played card games and ate our in-room service there. Four TV's, one in each living area meant we all got to watch what we wanted, when we wanted.. although the selection of channels was way too limited.

The next night we had dinner at Cagney's Steakhouse and loved it so much we went back the very next night again.We had dinner the first night in the Teppanyaki Room and that was well worth the upgrade price.
