My husband and I travelled down to Tilbury the day before we sailed, we stayed at the Thurrock Hotel? What a delight that was comfortable welcoming and so relaxing. We traveled to the cruise terminal and checked in to sail on the Marco Polo. Painless quick and absolutely no hassle. Baggage dropped off and was outside our cabin before we even boarded.
Whist the ship is not a luxury liner it was more than big enough for us. Excellent food brilliant staff and excellent entertainment. It holds 800 passengers and is adult only. We did not book any excursions through the boat as had chosen to see St Petersburg with a Russian tour company. What a great move this proved to be as much cheaper than the ship and an excellent two day tour. The ship provided shuttle buses at all other ports of call so easy to do your own thing. The cabin was big enough for the two of us although the walls were very thin.it was kept very clean everyday by our cabin steward. The choice of food was varied and always something to tempt you. Three different dining areas from formal to buffet style to outside sandwiches and snacks. Tea and coffee available all day as and when wanted. As this was adults only there were no children's clubs but different games and activities for the adults to keep you busy all day long.A different show each evening in the main show lounge, classical piano and violin in the Captains club and quizzes, game shows and disco in the Scott's bar. disembarkation was. Little drawn out but perhaps because of customs and emigration could have been quicker. A trip of a lifetime, good company hectic schedule of sightseeing but able to relax in the 3hot tubs on the days we were at sea. Please don't hesitate go on this cruise it is brilliant.
Clean comfortable and wit everything you need including tioletries.
