The Solstice surpasses any ship I've sailed on to date in terms of cabin space, fit and finish, and guest comfort. The stateroom bathrooms were of hotel quality - and spacious - with plenty of room in the bathroom for all toiletries required by two adults. No need to keep deodorant and razors in the bedroom! And there was actually room in the standalone shower, with sliding doors, to shower in comfort. The stateroom itself was generous, with a comfortable sofa, refer, computer desk, and built-in storage. The wardrobe closet was more than ample for two adults. There was space under the bed for all luggage (four pieces).
Entertainment on the Solstice was superior to any I've experienced on previous voyages (including Norwegian, Celebrity and Carnival). Food was just okay - nothing especially noteworthy. They had a "Top Chefs at Sea" event the week we sailed, so chefs from that television series were on board. One night they produced menu items that were not particularly well received. We heard many, many complaints about that meal. But for those into broiled octopus, I'm sure it was memorable. I'm curious why prime rib was served just once in the main dining room, and just once in the buffet. That seemed odd - and not something I'd expect on a Celebrity cruise. Come on, where's the beef?!
We purchased the classic alcohol package, which in retrospect was a mistake. We just don't drink enough to justify that purchase. We would have been far better off just paying for the adult beverages out of pocket. Live and learn! The Solstice does have some beautiful and comfortable lounges (the wine bar and the Ensemble Lounge were two of our favorites).
Loved it! Very spacious, tons of storage, fantastic bathroom (with built-in storage).
