My wife and I just finished a somewhat disappointing cruise aboard the Celebrity Equinox. Keep in mind that we are experienced cruisers, and have taken over 25 cruises, our last three including this one on Celebrity. This was their Classic Mediterranean cruise, a very port intensive cruise with 9 stops in 12 nights.

The ports of call were superb, and everything we could have hoped for. Our Concierge class cabin was wonderful as was the cabin service. What made this trip somewhat disappointing was the overall quality of the food served in the dining room and Oceanview Buffet. The food was at times served cold, for example the escargot in the dining room was served cold. The french onion soup had no flavor. The overall choice of entrees for dinner in the dining room was rather poor as well. They also seemed, to use anyway, to try and get us fed and out of there as quickly as possible. I can remember, before the days of flex dining, that dinner was an event that everyone looked forward to. Thus was not the case this time. The Oceanview buffet, unless you got eggs made to order were cold. The bacon at times was under cooked.

Contrast this with the speciality restaurants, and it was definitely worth the extra money spent to dine in the Tuscan Grille or Murano. We ate in the Tuscan Grille 4 nights, and Murano once, both were spectacular. The last night they made a cake for my wife's birthday!! I would highly recommend the speciality restaurants over the dining room.

Concierge Class 2

Cabin C2

The cabin met our expectations having been in Concierge class on previous cruises. What made this cabin nice was the extended outdoor deck that we had. Very Nice!!
