Sailed 8/30. Took 95 to 395 & then the new Tunnel to the Port - amazing! Very easy to get into/out of. Was pleased with embarkation process - very smooth & easy. Ship layout makes no sense to me (this is our 14th cruise.) Agree w/previous "poster" about Deck 8 (very nice, but fills up quickly.) Deck 15 was a zoo almost the entire cruise, except for very early in the morning & the first few hours of Port days. Layout makes no sense. Saw many people & children slip (& even fall) around the "Kid Pool" area, due to water (putting it between the Garden Café & the Main Pool makes NO sense!) Main Pool area VERY small - no room for more than a 100 or so people for any "demo'" Plus there are NO tables & chairs around the Pool - huh? The small "smokers" area had tables & chairs, but nowhere else until u got back to the Garden Café. We mainly wound up on Deck 16 (Spice H2O) - go around the small bar (that's where the breeze is!) There is a small "waterfall" pool on the right side, which is refreshing on a warm day, plus 2 hot tubs (no main pool like on the Epic.) NO access to deck 17 from Spice. Crew/Staff were excellent - we've sailed w/"Capt Tommy" on another Ship & were pleased to see him on the Getaway. Food was hit or miss - ate at Moderno twice & average both times. La Cucina (Italian) was great. Had 1 great meal in the MDR, 1 good meal in the Garden Café & 2 inedible meals in the MDR. Garden Café layout is bad. Omelet stations "block" access to other items where there are more than 2/3 people waiting & the food variety was non-existant....same things every day for all 3 meals. Also, no BBQ's, HB;s/HD's, etc., outside by the Pool on any day. All-in-all, disappointing to me.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BC

Cabin was laid out nicely. Lots of storage. Bath area was much better than the Epic! Balcony is VERY small, but enough room for 2 (as long as u like each other!) TV/messaging system worked well, once we figured it out - would have been nice to have a "how-to" guide. Did NOT like having to put your Ship card (or credit card, etc.) in the slot by the door to get the lights to stay on. Did the Ship card first & walked out w/out it several times (changed to a Lowes card!) Dumb idea! Bed/bedding was very good. Cabin 12262 was on Port side, so watched fireworks from the balcony, which was nice. Think NCL (and other cruise lines) could save a lot of time & money by leaving the fridge empty & asking you if u wanted it filled & what u wanted, or if u could pre-order. We always ask the Steward to empty it as soon as we enter.
