Sail Date: Aug 2014

It been a while since we sailed with RCI and we were disappointed with the selection and quality of the food. It was the same thing for 7 days in the windjammer food was warm at best and lacked variety. The formal dining lacked any great desserts like warm molten chocolate cake, etc. We ate at the Chops steak house the first night and found out they didn't even offer a ribeye. if you wanted an aged porter house, it would cost an additional approximately $20.00 on top of the $35.00. The wait staff at Chops were running around like it was a fast food service, quick in, quick out. 'My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and were expecting better food and quality service.

The embarkation and debarkation process was quick and fast, but where where was the RCI staff welcoming you on board. There were no one. Our stateroom was not clean, but we eventually got that resolved and a bottle of wine for that problem. One big attraction for us was the flow rider and it was only opened only twice a day for either 1 hr or 2 hrs. It just seemed they lacked personnel on the ship for everything. The staff they had were very good and friendly, which made our cruise somewhat more bearable, but for the entertainment and quality, I think we will be using Carnival or other cruise lines, after all they still offer the turn down chocolates at bedtime. Also we are emerald level and had no robes, which we found out you have to request.
