We are a family group, age from 3 to 73. this is our 6th cruise, but 1st with NCL. Overall, not that impressed.

The first problem we experienced was during the embarking process. It went smoothly until passport check. They experienced a computer down and that apparently messed everything up for us. It finally took the agents (yes, it took 2 agents, 2 supervisors, 1 tech, and still not solving the problem so at last one of the agents had to call some authority on the ship) about half an hour at the counter to finally clear things up and let us on board.

The food experience overall was average. We have dined at the Venetian's more than other places. The dinner food in main dining rooms was very good. Everybody could always find something that they craved. But the waiting time was too long. It took at least hour and half for a meal. The longest for us was two and half. Later on we learned the trick of ordering desserts at the beginning of meals. That sped things a little. Our breakfasts were at Garden Café, typical American breakfast options, eggs, meats, fruits, and the same selections for all the days. Lunches were with plenty of choices. The chicken wings on Deck 8 were exceptional. We also tried the French specialty dining once, finding it not worth the extra cover charge comparing its food with its peers on land, or with the main dining room options. So we cancelled other bookings and stayed at main dining rooms for the rest of the trip.

Cabin Review

The staterooms were clean and comfortable. Everything worked. The staff did a great job considering the ship's age. Except that one of our rooms had terrible noise level. Stateroom 5136. Try to avoid it if you can. There was some probably AC or whatever equipment nearby. When that was on, which was most of the time, the noise level in room was definitely sleep disturbing and headache causing.
