I have read much about Celebrity Solstice, some good, some bad. I can only speak from our experience. This was by far the best cruise out of the 7 we have been on. Those of you who complain about this ship and its staff need to get a life. Perhaps our cruise was special because we saved 5 years for the opportunity to cruise to Alaska. We also saved to enjoy the most beautiful suite. We were in a S1 Suite, Room #1666 Aft and our friends had Aqua Suite Room # 1668. We had not one complaint. Our room stewards, Mariano and Cowin did a superior job of making us comfortable. They enjoyed their jobs and were great at it! Our Butler, Rogelio, was efficient (we are not pretentious people, and we ask for very little!) and we found out much about his life off of the ship and his family. He was beyond helpful. He was very kind to us and our friends. The guys opened up our two balconies so we had expanded views of the whales and the Fjords and the Glaciers off the back of the ship! Our suite was beautiful. We had a large porthole and 300 square feet. It was appointed spectacularly, and, Oh that waterfall shower head! It was perfection after a hard day of excursions.

The food: What the heck are you people complaining about? We don't do the buffet (mostly because of portion control), but the couple of times we ate there we found it to be better than any buffet we had encountered on any ship. The ice cream bar was perfect late night!

We ate at the Tuscan Grill our first night on the ship and our friend was served a Well-done, not burnt steak that was tender and grilled to perfection. My lamb was perfectily medium-rare and tasty. Our server was professional and knowledgeable.

Cabin Review

We felt that we had the best view off the ship. Aft, corner, full view of everything on Deck 11. Our friends had the Aqua Class room next to us, #1668. It made cruising the Glacier an adventure we will never duplicate. Private and Secure. You will love this suite.
