I have now learned not to believe everything I read here as everyone's experience may be different. The port was not as bad as indicated. I left home at 9:30 a.m. and arrived before 10:00 a.m. and was onboard before 10:30 a.m. Check-in was seamless and very well organized and I noticed a lot of work in progress in the area. Once on board we were directed to BLU for brunch. Food on the first day was not the greatest as the same items were on the dinner menu so we opted to have dinner in the buffet. I understand the concept of the new buffet format but, as indicated in other reviews, because the items are in stainless steel containers, they continue to cook and dry out quickly so we had lunch in the dining room instead. In addition, I wish they would diversify the breakfast menu in BLU. Same items every day so after day three it gets old.

We did not go to Bermuda as planned because of the hurricane but the Summit and two other ships were redirected to Port Canaveral and Nassau. I had been to Bermuda several times so was happy with the change.

Entertainment was okay and the Cruise Director was not my favorite. I cruised with him before on Norwegian and he is a bit too raunchy for me, although he has toned down quite a bit.

Cabin Review

The cabin was quite nice but in retrospect I could have taken the next one in. There is an exit door in the hallway and once in a while you could hear it slam but not enough to be a nuisance. This location was very convenient to everything. Once in a while you would hear children running above but never past 10 p.m. I can't say enough about my cabin steward Charlie and his assistant Micky. They did a splendid job keeping the room neat.
