Sail Date: Aug 2014

This was our second Carnival Cruise. We are retired and have been on more than 30 cruises, mostly on Princess. We picked this cruise for two reasons. One, it was really inexpensive and two, it sailed from Port Canaveral, which is only and hour and half from home. We booked an inside room on deck one. It was just fine. 160 sq feet. I would suggest considering an outside room on deck one. They are larger and have a chair and couch. The bathroom was bigger than on most ships. Not much in the way of amenities. Shampoo and bath soap in dispensers in the shower. Bar soap on the counters. Great service from Ray, our room steward. We had a couple of minor problem with the room and Carnival responded quickly to fix any problem we had. Could not have ask for better service.

The food on Lido deck was pretty good. The burgers were fantastic and free. The buffet was pretty good, though there were long lines at the Wok station.

Food in the dining room was very good to excellent. Nice variety. I find it offensive to have items on the menu that they charge extra for, but I just avoided them. Service was very good after the first night or two. I thought the food in the dining room was not much different than on Princess.

Cabin Review

Nice cabin. Deck one was very quiet. 160 sq feet. Only a stool, no chair or couch. Would consider an outside on same deck. Much larger and has a chair and couch.
