This MSC cruise was the 4th of 4 cruises during 10 weeks in Europe. I have left writing this review from our arrival home to try and establish some objectivity, I struggle.
Embarkation was a debacle, we stood for over 4 hours, only to find that there was a large are next door with chairs, whilst the people doing the check in tried to sell drinks packages. The drill once on board was a joke, wrong information and a "don't care" mentality, thank goodness there was not an emergency, we have been shipwrecked (Fairstar 1977) and this mob would not cope.
Any resemblance to what was ordered at meal time and what was delivered was purely coincidental and of appalling quality. We used the dining room 4 times and then used the buffet, giving the "galah (correct spell) dinner a miss. Even food offered in the buffet was incorrectly labled. Our cabin was dirty, our blankets had been washed that many times they would not cover us. Requests for maintenance were ignored, we had to replace the Kleenex that stopped a rattle ourselves after a crew member removed. The crew appeared surly, (all but the Balinese) and ill managed, to the point we watched and listened to a stand up verbal between a crew member and an officer on disembarkation.
The cabin itself was ok, the bedding was awful, all of our sheets an pillow cases had holes in them and the blankets had shrunk to such an extent they would not cover us. The steward was chirpy but hadn't a clue and was not managed
