I was excited to take a cruise on a newer ship, however, the ship lacked the new look and feel I thought it would have. There was no opulence. The colors were very neutral and it had an old look. For a newer ship, I was sure that some of the pet peeves of taking a cruise would have been addressed on this large ship, such as bigger (or more) pools, wider cabin hallways, modern cabins....but I saw none of this. I also didn't like the feel of the closed-in areas.. I took a RC Allure of the Seas cruise last year and I missed the open, outdoor atmosphere it had in the middle of the ship. The Garden Cafe had the same entrees each day of the week, varying not too often. I took advantage of the specialty restaurants and they were worth it since you are getting a first class meal for pennies compared to dining on land at home. Rock of Ages is a highly inappropriate show for families. Pretty much raunchy. The Second City IMPROV group was fun, but even their skits were duplicated if you attended multiple nights. The ship needs a wider variety of entertainment.. the Carlos Bake shop did have the freshest, tastiest desserts. The desserts were lacking in the general areas. I recommend tasting the lobster claw pastry from Carlos and having a coffee there. Always love the towel animals.....I will go back to Royal Carribean next year.
