Carnival Victory - Eastern Caribbean

Sail Date: February 2007
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

This was our first cruise and didn't know what to expect. Our whole family agrees that Carnival was awesome. This was the most stress free holiday we have had. You can be as busy as you want or just relax and enjoy. We took our 2 teenage daughters and we all felt very safe.

The staff was remarkable, Kevin and the crew in housekeeping always smiling and asking how our day was. Iggy, Djoko, and Jenn kept us laughing and well fed at suppers. We got some great footage of the hilarious entertainment with the wait staff after our meals, they had the room cheering and clapping. Ram, Tawra, and crew were great at the art auctions. On the deck the wait staff were always around, but not pushy. The only poor service I got was in the cigar lounge, twice, and the lobby lounge catered to the adults and ignored the kids, so we didn't go back there as there are other options.

Food quality for the most part was fair, breakfast didn't change for the whole week at the buffets so we More went to the menu breakfast for a change. You definitely won't go hungry. The steak didn't compare the good old Alberta beef, so we ordered different choices and enjoyed the rest. Especially the desserts. Excursions- we just did island tours and were happy with them. We were disappointed the Puerto Rico tour was mostly in the dark as we arrived at suppertime. Of course the girls enjoyed all the shopping at the different islands.

Entertainment- a bit cheesy at times, but also a lot of talented people. Take in what you like and leave the rest worked for us.

Rooms- We are glad we got the outside window, the natural light was nice. The rooms were well kept and clean and the beds were comfy.

My 15 year old went to club O2 the first night and didn't go back. Most of the kids went there the first few days, just to meet friends and once they had their groups didn't return to the club activities and just hung out around the ship.

A major downside for us was you had to be out on deck before 7am in order to get a good lounge chair, or out by 9:30 just to get a chair at all. People were inconsiderate in that way, they got up early, put their towels on a few chairs and went back to bed. We were out there at 6 one morning got our spot and slept on the chairs, the people that got the chairs beside us however, were out there at 6 and we didn't see them back till about 4, some one else could have got alot more use of them.

Our whole family wants to cruise again, and without a doubt we will choose Carnival again. Less
