Another relaxing cruise
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral (Orlando)
Our room was on the 7th deck and we had a balcony. The room was comfortable and clean. Our room steward was wonderful and pleasant. However, we were disturbed at night by the workers in the service room across the hall. We selected a room with no one across from us expecting quiet but it was loud. Also, my pet peeve is the smokers. We purchased a balcony room so that we could sit out and read or relax. With smokers on both sides who were out there continuously lighting up, we could not enjoy the balcony. I wish cruise ships would section off a non smoking balcony area. The second hand smoke is so annoying and unhealthy.
The food on the ship was very More good. Guy's Burgers were amazing....cooked to perfection with a crusty bottom. We ate so many burgers that we are swearing off beef for a while now that we are home. The pizza was very good also. Dinner was your normal fare but very tasty. We did not have one bad meal in the dining room. On sea days a brunch is offered in the dining room. It was a pleasant chance from the buffet food on the Lido deck.
Entertainment was fine. We only went to a few shows as we preferred to spend our time (and money) in the casino. Someone else mentioned about the "Legends" show in their review and I agree. Some of the people that are so called "Legends" are not anymore. Time to update the show....keep the standards like Frank Sinatra. But does anyone really know who Ricky Martin is?
We loved the ports. Our tour in Aruba was okay. We booked with the ship but you could do better on your own. Our beach stay was very short. It was almost 5:00 when we got to the beach and the driver came back for us at 6. Curacao was beautiful. We took a tour on our own with a company off the ship. We saw a lot of the island but she never took us to the beach, which was mentioned in the tour handout. She dropped us off and we walked back across the moving bridge to the ship. There is shopping and a lovely walkway that leads right to the ship. Grand Turk was a beach day for us. The beach is right in front of the ship when you get off. No need to book any beach tours. The beach was somewhat crowded as there were two ships in port. We still managed to find lounge chairs and enjoy the beautiful water.
Overall, this ship is well kept, although small. We would cruise her again. Less
