My family and I have cruised several lines prior to our latest southern Caribbean cruise on Carnival. Not wanting to be a critic on my vacation, it is difficult not to compare and contrast the level of service, atmosphere and overall environment quality of Carnival versus other cruise lines we have traveled. I was impressed with certain aspects, content with others and had some disappointment which I will discuss.

Embarking/Disembarking Process - never much fun regardless of cruise line, yet Carnival handled well. Our ship was docked next to an RC ship and it was clear that RC's terminal was much nicer and up to date. The Carnival terminal is in the process of being renovated.

Service - Our service on the boat was second to none, which is our usual experience. Our room steward Johmar, who had been rated very highly on prior cruise critic reviews did not disappoint. His personality, timing and work ethic was much appreciated. Our waitress Christina was delightful and very attentive. All the other staff around the ship were attentive, helpful and pleasant.

Cabin Review

Our room was spacious and well maintained. There was some rattling in the ceiling boards due to the ships boat that was quite annoying. The bathroom was bigger than I can recall on other ships. Television was old and the station options weren't great.
