A good way to see some of Hawaii; opt for the port side

The Pride of America turned out to be a fine way to get a look at some of Hawaii. Service, food, entertainment, and cabin were all good.

When I first looked at the cabin, I was a little worried because it looked very dark and I expected a balcony. When the curtains were drawn, everything was much brighter. The balcony was smaller than some, having room for chairs but not lounges, but it was large enough and so was the room.

We had a starboard cabin. I did not think it would make much difference, but it would have been better to have a port cabin, especially for the Na Pali coast sail-by; although the ship does turn, so that the coast can be seen from starboard, once it turns it picks up speed and starts heading away from the coast. The cabin steward was fine and always had ice in the room. The elephant was our favorite towel animal. There is also a coffee maker in the room, and this was wonderful, especially early in the morning. Room service was always very prompt.
