In one sentence, we felt we were living on a floating prison fuelled by money making propaganda.
I shall try to leave a balanced review by firstly discussing the positives as there were some. The destinations were fantastic and seeing the glacier on a clear day made the trip worthwhile as was the visit the Juneau which we enjoyed, although after our experiences with Celebrity during the first few days, we decided not to attend the booked excursions and spent time away from the corporate machine which paid off. The cabin staff were helpful and the Martini Bar was a pleasant area and the waiter was fantastic.
The negatives:
Even though I'm over six foot, I'm not particularly tall but I do suffer from a bad back from time to time and the bed was a nightmare. My feet hung over the edge, the bed was so low we couldn't put any cases underneath and the mattress had no give left in it after many many years of service...there was also no sign of a 'pillow menu' which was mentioned in the prospectus. The towels had also seen better days and they always smelled so the bathroom was always an unpleasant place to be.
