Object of the cruise was to get as far north as possible and this was achieved - having said that there were several negatives. The entertainment was good but the pressure on the main shows in the Neptune Lounge was so bad that it was impossible many times over the 15 nights to get a seat with a view of the stage - in fact for one of the main shows we were forced to take the only free seats which were situated next to the band - ears covered when ever they played prevented ear damage! (The quality of the performers were perfect when possible to see them) It was obvious that with the extra section of the ship installed the extra passengers were 'Surplus to facilities'

Meals were of high standard but at breakfast and lunch people were shoe horned into anywhere that there were vacant chairs (for example a table for six would have as many people passed through it as possible even at the risk of not being able to push your chair back to collect food) The main booked meal in the evening was good and well conducted but had to be hurried at the end to get some sort of seat in the Neptune show site.

Excursions taken were to Gripp Island and at Bergan Grieg s' home - we were unable to board the coach which was full with only the odd seat for a single person - it was so hot and uncomfortable that the supervising staff were standing outside the coach where it was cool and they then gave me an immediate refund stating there should have been two coaches. I was very disappointed as this was the high point of the Bergan visit for me. Due to the long sea journey our port times were short and precious to us.

Cabin Review

Cabin very good clean and adequate - long term the ship does need some dockyard attention but the standard is still good.
