We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 6 and 10. We planned to start our holiday in Barcelona staying for 2 nights prior to the cruise. We stayed in a lovely hotel called Groupotel Gravina, 5 mins walk away from La Ramblas and only a short walk to the Christopher Columbus Monument where we hopped on the port bus, taking us directly to the ship, a short 5 minute ride. As first time cruisers, but lovers of disney we didnt know what to expect at all. Seeing the ship for the first time was an amazing experience for all the family. The check in was busy but organised and time soon passed as the kids had their first sighting and photos taken with Captain Micky and his friends! We were astonished as to the size of the ship, the welcome we received and the friendliness of all the staff who greeted us. The magic began as soon as we stepped into the beautiful atrium!

We took on a small bag with swim wear as recommended so could go straight to the pool.

Kids pool small but we decided it was more of a cool down pool than a play pool. Kids loved movie screen overlooking pool, showing disney films. Kids LOVED the kids club (never used a kids club before as keen to experience holidays as a family) however the activities in oceaneers lab and club were so good our kids were keen to go back again and again! Perfect for the ages of our kids who could go back and forth to each along a connecting corridor. Our 6 year old particularly liked the Toy Story and the Avengers lab and we did make use of the dine and play service, where the youth workers collected the kids after they had finished their meal, allowing adults to finish meal at a more leisurely pace!

Cabin Review

We stayed in the basic stateroom, which was surprisingly spacious with disney pieces of magic within, even down to the shower curtains which had micky mouse tastefully embellished! We were pleased to have taken a night light for the kids as it was (as reviewers described) pitch black when cabin lights off. Good sized storage, room to put cases under the beds, good sized fridge to store our sangria and beer in, which we took on board! Bathroom small but met our needs, beautiful complimentary lotions and shampoos left daily. TV has a range of disney films showing constantly. Stateroom host kept the room immaculate with surprise towel origami each evening which we loved! Main bed very big and VERY comfortable, even pillows nice. Kids had pull out bunk bed which was made up for them each night and put away each morning, stateroom host worked very very hard.
