Nice Cruise

Sail Date: August 2014
Destination: Bermuda
Embarkation: Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Re. our August 9th cruise to Bermuda.  After hearing some negative reviews of the ship we were pleasantly surprised with our 5th cruise on EOS. Not quite 5 Stars but we give it a 4+.

Embarkation - Arrived about 11:00 AM and dropped off luggage at terminal. Drove to parking lot and had a short wait as the credit card readers were malfunctioning. Check-In time was prompt but Check-In agent fortgot to give us WOW cards. No staff present to direct us to and sit in the waiting area. No Diamond and Diamond Plus area to speak of. Number called about 20 minutes later for the bus transfer to ship. Cabins were ready at 1:30 PM.

Food - Better than expected after reading other reviews. Breakfast items in the Windjammer were pretty much the same but who eats everything everyday anyways. Except for one day the lunch selection was good in the Windjammer. Ms. Washy Washy will personally sanitize your hands at breakfast and lunch. Dinner selection and quality were very good. More

Service - Our waiter Luke at Table 345 could not have been better and we gave him our only WOW card. Room Steward Craig was super efficient and was highly visible whenever we needed him. Concierge Denzil was cordial and helpful for requested information and obtaining seats for the ice show.

Entertainment - This 5-day cruise was top heavy with comedians and the singers and dancers only performed one program. Enjoyed most of the comedians and the dancers/singers were vibrant.

Spa - Good service but staff are pushy with the passengers to buy their Elemis products.

Excursions - The Bermuda Triangle Night Bottom Boat excursion was disappointing. Certainly not worth the cost.

Deck and Pools - On sea days not a chair available by late morning. If you want to just relax in the shade and view the ocean, go to Deck 5 and use the lounge chairs and footstools there.

Captain Rick Sullivan - The best Captain we’ve met so far on 32 cruises. Very friendly and visible (present in the Windjammer for lunch) and even sang three songs at the Crown and Anchor repeaters party.

Ship Condition - No noticeable wear and tear problems in public areas or in our cabin. Occasionally there were sewage smells on Deck 2 but were only temporary.

Debarkation - released at 9:30 AM. Got our bags with the assistance of a porter who waited for us at Immigration and took us to our car. Drove out of parking lot at 10:00 AM.

Well kept cabin. Some sewage odors but they were only temporary.
