We boarded the Pride in Long Beach. The embarkation process was mostly painless and the agent at the early boarding counter was great very friendly and efficient. We advise you to get there no later than 11:00 since they close the early boarding counter soon after that.

The Ship is BEAUTIFUL!! CLEAN and I mean ALL week CLEAN!! The decor is Renaissance and any suggestion of "nudity" that I read before our cruise was obviously from some "simple" people that can look at work of the great masters and see nothing but nudity. There is a beautiful replica of David that greets you at the top of the stairs in David's supper club. Great works of Renaissance are everywhere on the ship. The ship has been carefully and artfully done in EVERY square inch. The ages of the passengers ranged from 2 to 92 it was nice to see the difference and no one group was over represented. The kids were actually nice and though we saw a few young ones wondering around unsupervised they were well behaved and we saw no kids misbehaving. Lunch was available immediately as we boarded, from pizza, hot dogs, burgers or steak sandwiches in the outside grill by the pool to the awesome buffet that was typical but a different menu every day. The food was very very good, plentiful with something for all tastes!

Weather was good on the way down and just cool enough to be comfortable. 3 nights we even slept with our balcony door open as we could hear the waves caused by the bow of the ship. We were on deck 7 forward right side. It was like sleeping on the beach!! All but the last day the temp was good enough to be in a bathing suit. Only the last 2 day we had windy cool/colder weather.
