Sail Date: Jul 2014

We chose this cruise as a prelude to an extended vacation in England since it conveniently sailed out of Southampton. This was our first and last experience with MSC cruises!

We have sailed over thirty times on most of the large cruise lines and have to say that our voyage on the MSC Opera was our worst cruise experience.

While we found the service, condition of the ship and entertainment to be adequate (but not even average in comparison) the food was horrible beyond belief. Every piece of meat was tough, fish was of poor quality and presentation of meals was poor. There was a limited selection of desserts and what there was was simple and bland. Inside Seating was difficult to find at the buffet and it was usually too cold to sit outside. The patio area was also poorly maintained with tables not being cleared for long periods of time.
