So long MSC ....

Sail Date: August 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

For bit half-of-the cost of my all-time RC,Princess, I ride this a second time, and may be the last .

Ship is fully booked.

Boarding was efficient: they do not allow to bring your favorite wines into the ship ( I knew).

Foods are just what we paid for, sub-par: creme brulee for MSC is custard with sugar on top !!! beside that, the rest of the foods are just decent, nothing to spoke for .

We purchased the 7 bottles for $155 at the table and they do have some decent wines.

Exercise room is ... miniature at its best: I was up there 6:45am, no treadmill, bikes, ... The 14-15 deck are constantly wet and slippery !!! the seven deck is my best keep secret for walk/running in between.

Clubs / Party are somewhat boring ... ( may be it is a good thing for our children!!! ).

Fellow passengers are mix... few p/p that we talked to are not happy about the food / services ...

I think the service crew are decent and quite More effective.

We are former MSC goers so we been invite to a free cocktail party, thanks MSC.

The sport equipment checkout location (basketball/soccer, pingpong ... ) is well disguise up-left-corner of 16 floor, near the Virtual Room: Why MSC ??!!

Day 3:

First port/ St Maarteen is excellent, we spend the whole day snorkeling ( which is may not be the best). Transport: walk outside of port $2/pp but inside $8/pp.... our friends pay $15/pp to the same destination. Good spot for shopping- prices.

Day 4:

St Juan: very hot and divided, old-St-Juan is about 10x10 blocks and have little to offer except some sign seeing and shopping. You should able to use your cell/ WIFI around the area for free. Trolley is free around the major spots within the area.

New St Juan is bigger and it is close to our time limit so we did not explore there .

Day 6:

Great Stirrup Cay: even hotter !!! holy macaroni ! numerous passengers pass out due to (heat stroke, fever, ... ) we have to pick up the tickets and wait to be boat to the island .... very crowded beach with little to offer !!! MCS serving burgger/ hog dog/ water ... but the whole place is cooked under the sun... I am glad that my kids survive this island but ... you been warned .

Day 7:

I need to catch a early fly out so I dug out at 7:45am with little crowd to contest ... again smooth sailing there. Make sure if you use the shuttle, have the cash or pay with cc in advance... don't believe what you heard on the phone ($15/pp for me to FLA )

Overall: I think if you do accept a lower standard and trade them off with low cost, MSC still is .

For me, it may be the last. Less

Cabin review: MSC Divina 14xxx

Balcony cabin is spacious as expected: good size bed and roll-a-bed that can fit a couples and small child. Clean, we do smell a strong ammonia odor and the cleaning crew try but it still there until the last day, oh well.
